First Batch Of Roms Done!!

The line below is an example of what can be used in a batch file. With a batch file containing the above line if you type myname (name of bat file) and then your name, as shown below. It would output 'Hello Bob' because 'Bob' is the first matched text. Read-only memory (ROM) is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices. Data stored in ROM cannot be electronically modified after the manufacture of the memory device. Read-only memory is useful for storing software that is rarely changed during the life of the system, also known as firmware. A one-gallon batch will yield about five standard-size (750 ml) bottles of wine. If the fifth bottle isn't quite full, then either drink that bottle or use smaller bottles to keep the wine. The key is to have full, sealed containers that are capable of aging. Now you're ready to make your first batch of fresh-grape wine.

Original story (published on September 09, 2020) follows:

The Xiaomi community has been clamoring over MIUI 12 since its official release a few months ago. Since then we have seen the Chinese tech giant roll out this custom Android skin to a good number of its eligible devices.

We have maintained a dedicated MIUI 12 update tracker to keep tabs on this rollout and you can check it out here. Along with that, we also have a separate MIUI 12 bug tracker to keep our readers updated about the officially acknowledged bugs/issues and their development status.

In a bid to organize and structure the rollout of MIUI 12 to eligible devices, Xiaomi divided its eligible devices into batches and rolled out this update to the given batches over a set period.

Towards the end of June, we saw the company announce the first batch of 13 devices that would get updated to MIUI 12 in the following few months.

That was followed by the second batch that was slated to commence by the end of July. Later reports suggested that the second batch would be concluded by the end of September.

Today, we're getting reports that Xiaomi is indeed winding up the rollout of MIUI 12 to the second batch of devices (so yes, its time for the next one).

According to the MIUI 12 listing, the second batch of supported Redmi and Mi devices includes the following 14 models:

First Batch Of Roms Done!!

– Mi 8,
– Mi 8 under-screen fingerprint version,
– Mi 8 Transparent Discovery Edition,
– Mi MIX3,
– Mi MIX2S,

– Mi 9 SE,

– Mi CC9,
– Mi CC9 Meitu customized version,

– Redmi Note 8 Pro,
– Redmi Note7,
– Redmi Note 7 Pro,
– Redmi 10X,
– Redmi 10X Pro

With the completion of MIUI 12 circulation on the devices scheduled to receive the update in the second phase, all eyes have now shift to devices in the third batch of this rollout.

The third batch of MIUI 12 update rollout comprises of Redmi and Mi devices such as:

– Mi Note 3
– Mi Max 3
– Xiaomi 8 SE
– Mi CC9e

– Redmi 8
– Redmi 8A
– Redmi 7
– Redmi 7A

– Redmi 6
– Redmi 6A
– Redmi Note 5
– Redmi S2 among others

We have also seen a purported list of devices that are set to get updated to MIUI 12 in the fourth and probably the final batch of the rollout but Xiaomi is yet to formally release any official lists.

Xiaomi has done really good with this rollout, the occasional bugs, and hitches notwithstanding. We can only hope that more and more OEMs borrow a leaf from Xiaomi in a bid to streamline Android updates moving forward.

Update 1 (September 22)

IST 02:05 pm: New developments suggest that Xiaomi has indeed begun rolling out MIUI 12 for eligible devices from the third batch. Matter of fact, the Mi Note 3 is one such device from batch three that has picked up MIUI 12. More details here.
